Saturday night I went to see Iron Man and was not disappointed. I haven't followed the comics too much, so I'm not sure how true they are to them, but I thought the movie was awesome. The casting was very good, the effects were sharp, and I liked the story. Kris Tina liked it too even though she had NO desire to see it before we went. Thanks to Adam, we were able to convince the ladies to go - nice work. I think Marvel is doing a great job of bringing to life its universe. Iron Man isn't exactly a household name like Batman or Spiderman, yet the movie pulled in about $100 million this weekend. Nice work Marvel. Let the summer movies begin - so far it's looking good. I fully recommend this movie.

I agree. I saw it over the weekend and really enjoyed it. It always helps when you don't have high expectations. Going into it, I had a hard time seeing Robert Downy Jr. as a superhero, but he pulled it off from the beginning to the end.
Definitely recommended!

Mad Man Macomber and I went and checked it out last weekend. I dug it and Macomber placed it at or above Batman Begins (a bold statement if you ask me).
Having read a few IronMan comics in my day (I heartily endorse the Orson Scott Card written Ultimate IronMan which can be found in the easily consumable Graphic Novel format... just make sure you get 1 AND 2) I was behind Robert Downy Jr. as Tony Stark right off, but was less sure of an IronMan movie at all. In the end I think they delivered as good a product as anyone could hope for.
Did either of you stick around for the post credits fun? It's a big nod to another "Ultimates" book that every comic fan should read. (IMHO)
I didn't stick around. I guess I'll have to check it out when the DVD comes out.
Yeah I caught it - pretty cool - I wondered if the character would make an appearance. I guess they are setting up the next movie(s).
